This is Allom’s classic in its French addition with steel engravings featuring a title page in English, and in French. Front and Back cover have been replaced, otherwise the two books are in good condition. Thomas Allom — 1804-1872 was an English architect, artist, and topographical illustrator. He is remembered for numerous illustrations of China. Published in “China Illustrated” in 1845. This series of volumes is an important record of palaces, buildings, and interiors now destroyed. Published in 1845.
